Editor-in-Chief, THE AsiaN –Sindhi Edition
It is with immense pride and heartfelt excitement that I share some historic news with you. THE AsiaN, the esteemed media wing of the South Korea-based Asia Journalists Association and a vital part of the Asian News Network, is set to launch the Sindhi version of their official website.
This is not just an upgrade of a platform. It is a monumental milestone for our language, our culture, and our community. For the first time in the digital realm, our Sindhi language will have a dedicated space where citizens of Sindh and Sindhi speakers worldwide can access news reports about Pakistan, features and articles on culture, heritage, and opinions in their mother tongue on an international platform. It opens up a new chapter of visibility, representation, and voice for Sindh in particular, and Pakistan in general, and our rich heritage.
The launch of the Sindhi version signifies a recognition of our language’s importance and its role in shaping cultural identity in a rapidly changing world. It also reinforces our collective efforts to keep Sindhi alive, vibrant, and relevant in the realm of global media. We are now better positioned to share the achievements, issues, stories, and perspectives from all walks of life with a wider audience, fostering understanding and pride.
As the Editor-in-Chief of the Sindhi version, I want to extend my warmest congratulations to all Sindhi speakers around the globe. This milestone belongs to each and every one of you—writers, journalists, cultural activists, students, and supporters—who have tirelessly worked to preserve and promote our language. I would also like to invite writers from other regions of Pakistan to contribute articles in English highlighting various aspects of our culture and heritage. Their articles will be published not only in English but will also be translated in Sindhi and Korean language.
I also want to encourage everyone to support this initiative actively. Your engagement, feedback, and sharing of content will help us make this platform a true reflection of Sindhi life and values. Let us seize this opportunity to showcase our heritage and aspirations on the world stage.
Together, let us celebrate this achievement and look forward to a future where Sindhi voices are heard loud and clear across borders. This is a historic step, and I am confident that it will inspire further cultural and linguistic revival for generations to come.
