THE AsiaN, an online media outlet founded on November 11, 2011 by Asia Journalist Association (AJA) overseas journalist network, is an alternative media that expands Asia’s horizons.

The “N” in THE AsiaN stands for “Future Vision” (NEXT), ‘Balanced News’ (NEWS), and ‘Communication Platform’ (Network), and contains the values that THE AsiaN pursues.

NEXT: Vision Connecting Next Generations in Asia

We provide easier explanations of various issues hidden throughout Asia to increase understanding of Asia as a whole and present a vision for the future of Asia. We also build a bridge with the “Next Generation” by covering the society-culture that even the younger generation can easily access.

NEWS: Balanced News from an Asia’s Perspective

We deliver vivid scenes in Asia from an objective and balanced perspective of “Asia.” We reinterpret the “Asian values” that have been reduced and distorted by others and report on various cultural arts, political economy, and social phenomena in Asia as they are.

NETWORK: Asia’s Space for Communication

We provide high-quality content that covers Asia with the vast and high-quality human network of AJA. We also build a news platform unique to Asia through multilingual editions published in the official language (English) and the native languages of each Asian country.
