[Indonesia Report] Indonesian President in Vientiane, Laos, to attend ASEM Summit
Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono arrived in Vientiane, Laos Sunday (Nov.4) to attend the ASEMU Summit to be held on Nov. 5-6 on his way home from London he visited at the invitation of Queen Elizabeth.
Indonesian Minister of Trade Gita Wirjawan who accompanied the President to London also arrived in Vientiane.
Prior to ASEM Summit, Wirjawan accompanied President SBY on Bilateral Meeting with Laos on Sunday.
Kompas.com reported that according to Iman Pambagyo, General Director of Indonesia International Trade Cooperation, there might be two agreements to be made during the meeting for discussion about tourism and political affairs.
ASEM Summit in Laos is the 9th ASEM Summit since first held in 1996.
ASEM is held every year and once every two year for ASEM Leaders meeting.
The meeting is a forum for Asian and European countries to communicate and discusse the dynamic of politics, economics, and other strategies issues.
Leaders from 50 Countries are attending the 9th ASEM Summit in Laos.
