Twin Snow Leopard Cubs Born By Artificial Breeding In China

The twin snow leopard cubs, a male and a female, are embraced by their breeder Li Guoxing in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau Wild Life Garden in Xining, capital of northwest China’s Qinghai Province, Sept. 25, 2012. With stable vital signs, now the two-month cubs have gone through dangerous stage after they were born. It is difficult to breed snow leopard artificially and there are only three cases in China by far. Snow leopard’s habitat altitude ranges from 3,500 meters to 5,500 meters, around the snow line on the plateau. As an endangered species, only 5,000 to 7,000 snow leopards are still remaining worldwide. <Xinhua=Chen Guozhou>
