“KTX Peace Train” forum reflects on the past and future of Asia and AJA

Asia Journalist Association (AJA) based on Seoul held its forum called ‘70 years after the end of the World War Ⅱ, how Asia has been changed and what is the role of Asia media’.

During two days from 7th, reporters from Asian countries including South Korea discussed how Asian countries divided into two ideology, capitalism and socialism, after they become independent countries in Post War era and what happened during that time.

The discussion took place in KTX train like AJA did on 2009, being titled “KTX Peace Train.” As part of the forum, AJA members visited “The Independence Hall of Korea” in Cheonan, which commemorates the Korean struggle against invaders through different monuments and exhibitions.

As the theme was how war changed Asia, the tour in the independence hall of Korea showed how the Japanese colonization and the Korean war afterwards changed Korea and its people, providing a chance to reflect on the past.
