Greenpeace Protests Against Hosting UN Summit On Biodiversity In Hyderabad, India

Greenpeace activists hang a banner with a photo of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh atop the Charminar monument in Hyderabad, India, Monday, Oct. 8, 2012. The activists were protesting against India hosting the UN summit on biodiversity even as Indian forests are being destroyed due to coal mining. Singh’s government was recently accused of irregular sales of coal blocks that India’s auditor said cost the country’s treasury tens of billions. <AP Photo/Mahesh Kumar A.>
