Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who is on a visit to Kazakhstan, said that the situation in Afghanistan can be resolved only peacefully, the Turkmen Dovlet Khabarlary State News Agency said.
During the talks with Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev, President Berdimuhamedov stressed that it is necessary to create effective political and diplomatic mechanisms involving international organizations, especially the UN, to normalize the situation in Afghanistan.
President Berdimuhamedov added that Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan are ready to render the necessary assistance to the world community to rapidly normalize the situation in Afghanistan and restore the country’s economy and social sphere. (Trend.az)
