Staff changes in Uzbek government
Uzbekistan announced staff changes in the government Sept. 14.
The country’s acting president Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree appointing Abdulla Oripov deputy prime minister for youth policy, culture, information systems and telecommunications, read a message on the government website, Trend reports.
Oripov served as Uzbekistan’s deputy prime minister from May 2002 until August 2012.
He supervised the information systems and telecommunications sphere. Oripov also headed Uzbekistan’s Agency for Communications and Information in 2005-2009.
Moreover, Majid Karimov, who served as deputy prime minister for youth policy, education, culture and sports, was appointed deputy minister of science.
Mirziyoyev signed another decree to appoint Rustam Kasimov minister of higher and secondary special education. Kasimov served as minister of higher and secondary special education in 2004-2008 and as deputy prime minister.
He has also served as rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy in Tashkent.
