Summer in Britain is often hailed as the height of beauty of all seasons. That should be why Shakespeare sang in his sonnet, “Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?”
When summer comes, the dreaming spires of Oxford shine under the brightly lit sun. Students enjoy gliding through the Cherwell River in flat-bottomed boats called the punts. Float yourself upon the river on a punt, then suddenly time flows at a much slower pace.
