Yin Chuan’s natural beauty enchants Korean visitors

The unique natural beauty of Yin Chuan enchanted some 80 Korean people who visited the Chinese city aboard the Jin Air’s inaugural flight in March. They prasied the scenic beauty of the region, saying that they were impressed by the fact that Islamic culture, desert and vast grass-covered plain are being used as tourist attractions.

They are mostly members of the Agency for Promoting Korea-China Economic, Trade and Tourism Cooperation and visited the western Chinese city for the first time on the occasion of inaugurating flight operation between Incheon and Yin Chuan in the Ning Xia Islamic autonomous district. The airline will operated once a week for the time being with a plan to increase the frequency depending on the number of tourists to and from the city in the days to come.

The Korean visitors from all walks of life highly estimated the city as a tourist attraction. Some of them expressed their willingness to find investment partners for starting a new business in the city, saying that it has high chances of being successful in tourism.

Dr. Kim Yong-deok, an official at the Korean consulate general in Xi An, a Chinese city not far from Yin Chuan, said “I was surprised at Yin Chuan’s unique scenery and it is not far from my workplace. Moreover, prices here are low and I was impressed by their wisdom making good use of Islamic culture, desert and grassy plain as tousist attractions.” 

Chung Hong-geun, executive director of Jin Air, said “Desert, vast grass and other natural environment surrounding the city are extraordinary and have unique charm that can’t be found in other tourist regions.”

Chun Jae-won, Korean consul-general in Xi An, estimated that “Their tourism development is being made in a way of maximizing the characteristics and uniqueness of this region.” He also said the area can be said to have a lot of business chances, considering the fact that the region is one of the fastest growing regions in China.
