The Korean giant, Samsung, is planning to release a new low-budget smartphone in South Korea during this month, meeting the demands of cheap smartphones.

According to company sources, KT, which is the second smartphones operator in South Korea is going to be the exclusive distribute of this new phone “Galaxy J7” which will range in price from 300 thousand won (257$) to 100 thousand won in sales.

This step comes after SK Telecom, the competitor of KT, decided to release its own smartphone “Luna” in September.  This locally made smartphone sold 30 thousand units in two weeks for 300 thousand won.

“Galaxy J7” which was pre-released in China and India in June, comes with an 5.5 inch screen, removable battery, and a selfie camera with 5 megapixels.

According to “Strategy Analysts,” low-budget smartphones are expected to make up 55% of international market this year, which marks a raise by 20.4% from 2011.
