Kyrgyzstan’s parliament approved plans for a national referendum to be held on December 11 on proposed constitutional reforms, parliament’s press office said.

The reforms would strengthen the powers of the prime minister. The amendments also include provisions granting more powers to the cabinet and to leaders of parliamentary factions, Reuters reports. (Vestnik Kavkaza)
