No. 32 – 05 September 2012

Dear friend

Kjell Enstrom, a Swedish who has lived in Korea in the last 11 years as environmental energy expert, said “what is important here is the formulation of the long-term plan under which how to develop clean energy and how to bring up children in clean environment could be decided.”

He further said “Seoul is already a worldly renowned city where a growing number of foreign tourists visit and it is important for the city to play a leading role in green growth.”

In a recent interview with The AsiaN, the Swedish energy expert said that Seoul is blessed with natural beauty of the Han River and surrounding mountains, but it is far behind other countries in the development of clean energy.

Many Asian countries would have similar experiences of destroying natural environment due to reckless development in the course of rapid industrialization.
However, further damage on environment and reckless use of natural resources will not be tolerated. They should be preserved for future generations. We should realize that the unusual high temperatures and other natural calamities Korea and other Asian nations suffered last summer were nothing other than a “gentle” warning from the nature.

You would be able to read various news articles in Chinese, English and Korean on the AsiaN website(www.theasian.asia). Please do not hesitate to give your opinions. We are going to fully accept the ideas that you sent.

See you next week.

Sincerely
Lee Sang-ki, CEO & Publisher of the AsiaN
