No. 31 – 29 August 2012

Dear friend

“I hope the Nepal House will help Koreans better understand the beauty, diversity and intelligence of Nepal. Do you know what Nepal stands for? It’s ‘Never Ending Peace And Love’.”

The above is the part of the speech Anuradha Koirala, head of Mighty Nepal, made at the reception held last week to celebrate the opening of the Nepal House in Seoul. She is noted for having saved some 20,000 Nepalese girls from being sold to India as prostitutes and taught them vocational education. That’s why she was selected as the CNN Hero of The Year in 2010 and also awarded the Manhae Peace Prize in 2011.

Amb. Kaman Singh Lama who came to Korea last May to serve as the second Nepalese ambassador to Korea, said in a speech that “Nobody is born big. Likewise, Nepal House has just come into being, I hope it will grow steadily with your help in the days to come.”

It is hard for everyone to take the first step. The AsiaN will always be with those who challenge courageously. Warm greetings to foreigners who come to visit us, a beautiful act of treating them with a cup of cool water.

Aren’t that the typical virtues Asian people have preserved for thousands years?

August 29, 2012

Sincerely
Lee Sang-ki, CEO & Publisher of the AsiaN
