World Renowned Primatologist Jane Goodall Comes to Korea

This coming Saturday (August 12th), world-renowned primatologist and environmental activist Jane Goodall will be in Korea to be awarded the Manhae Grand Prize in the practical component. Her study on Chimpanzees and animal relationships with the human population have been accepted as the foundation for the coexistence of all nature’s inhabitants.

As UN Peace Ambassador and activist for animals and the environment, Jane Goodall is reconized as one of history’s greatest contributors to the understanding of interactions between humans and nature. Despite being over 80 years of age, Goodall continues to visit countries around the world in support of environmental campaigns . A “Jane Goodall Walkway” was established in Seochon National Ecology Park (Chungnam Province, South Korea) informing visitors of her life achievements.

Two days prior to the ceremony (August 10th), Goodall, along with her devoted pupil, Choi Jae-chun (Chair-Professor at Ewha University and Director of the National Ecological Reserve in Korea) will host a special eco-talk bringing in their expertise on current environmental issues. The event will be hosted by Asia Journalist Assocation with support from the Korea Health and Welfare Commission.
