New AJA Board Appointees for a New AJA
During the 2107 AJA general conference, new Executive Board members were appointed under the guidance of AJA chairman, Ashraf Dali, founder Lee Sang-ki, and vice chairman Kang Seok-jae (former Korea Herald reporter):
Vice President Chuluunbaatar Dolgor was appointed as senior vice president (along with Neelima Mathur) , while Nasir Ahmed Memon Aijaz of Pakistan was named an advisor. Three journalists were newly named as executive directors: Ms. Alin Garganera of the Philippines, Ms. Edita Dadasyan of Georgia, Sophal Chaay of Cambodia, and Dilmurod Djumabaev of Uzbekistan.
Furthermore, the Executive Board members of the Asia Journalist Association (AJA) gathered at the Harbor Park Hotel in Incheon, Korea on April 7, 2017 to agree on several matters.
Among the agreed items were membership fees for full regular members and the introduction of the so-called “mileage” system for its regular members.
The Executive Board members also agreed to nominate Neelima Mathur of India as the editor-in-chief of The Asia N, the official AJA monthly magazine. They also agreed to set up an editorial group for the Asia N, which will be headed by AJA President Mr. Asraf Dali of Egypt.
Among the Executive Board members who attended the meeting were Mr. Sang-ki Lee, founding president of AJA; Mr. Asraf Dali of Egypt, president of the AJA; Mr. Ivan Lim of Singapore, honorary president of the AJA; Mr. Nasir Ahmed Memon Aijaz of Pakistan, adviser of the AJA; Mr. Chuluunbaatar Dolgor of Mongolia, senior vice president of the AJA; Mr. Seok-jae Kang, vice president of the AJA; Ms. Pooneh Nedaei Kharghani Saber of Iran, vice president of the AJA; and the newly elected three executive directors of the AJA: Ms. Alin Garganera of the Philippines, Ms. Edita Badasyan of Georgia and Mr. Dilmurod Djumabaev of Uzbekistan.
