Friday is off Instead of Sunday in Arab

For Kuwaiti, Friday is the day they go to church to pray. It is like Sunday for Christians. Originally, Thursday and Friday were holidays for Kuwaiti. But, in consideration of convenient business transactions with international communities, Kuwait changed their holidays to Friday and Saturday. If not, they would have to stop business with other countries for four days a week.

“We have our own calendar based on the movement of the moon like lunar calendar for Korea,” said Muteb Al-Mutoteh, Kuwait ambassador to Korea, during a meeting with the AsiaN on Mar. 14.
