Promotion of Borjomi Begins in South Korea

As a result of the promotion by the Embassy of Georgia of a mineral water – Borjomi, it has now started to be exported to the Republic of Korea.

According to the supply agreement between IDS Borjomi Georgia and commercial firm ANK Service Co, the first shipment of Borjomi was imported to Korea in June 2016. The product is being sold in 0.5L glass bottles.

On August 29, 2016, the meeting was held with Mr. Chin Younghan, Board Member of the ANK Service Co. According to Mr. Chin, based on the preliminary agreement, Hyundai Department Store will sell “Borjomi” in its supermarket’s chain starting from September 2016.

In order to increase “Borjomi” brand awareness in Korea, ANK Service Co plans to print promotion material in Korean and English languages.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Chin thanked the Embassy for its activities and expressed his firm desire to cooperate with the Embassy in the distribution and sales process. On its part, the Embassy expressed its readiness to assist ANK Service Co in the popularization of Borjomi for a successful marketing.
