Deadly blast rocks wedding ceremony in Turkey
More than 50 people have been killed and more wounded in a suicide attack at a wedding ceremony in Turkey’s southeastern province of Gaziantep, near to the Syria border.
People’s Daily reported that Turkish authorities say their initial investigation into a deadly attack on a wedding in southeastern Turkey is pointing to the Islamic State. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said: “Their (referring to investigators) preliminary findings point to the fact that this was an action by Daesh. It was clear that Daesh had such an organization in Gaziantep or was attempting to make room for itself in recent times.”
At least 51 people were killed when a suicide bomber aged between 12 and 14 blew himself up while people dancing on the street at a wedding party in the Turkish city of Gaziantep near the Syrian border.
The attack is the deadliest in a series of bombings in Turkey this year.
A series of bombings have been taking place in southeastern Turkey over the past couple of weeks, which Turkish authorities have pinned mostly on Kurdish separatists.
