Iran, Kazakhstan to build joint oil refinery in Mazandaran
Iran and Kazakhstan will participate in a project on constructing a joint oil refinery in Amirabad Port in Mazandaran province, head of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Mazandaran said on June 26.
Mohammad Mohammadpour, Head of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Mazandaran, in a meeting with a Kazakh trade delegation on Sunday expressed readiness to cooperate with Kazakhstan in the field of grain exports and oil swap, adding “Mazandaran province is interested in having oil activities in Amirabad Port and Neka and to this end, we propose to purchase petroleum products from Kazakhstan,” Mehr reports.
Mohammadpour further called for the construction of a joint oil refinery in Amirabad Port with the participation of Kazakhstan; “the refinery will be constructed by both Iranian and Kazakh sides and with the oil from Kazakhstan; all necessary permits have been issued and the land is ready for construction,” he added.
During the meeting which was held with the efforts of Mazandaran Chamber of Commerce, topics on grains and petroleum products exports to Mazandaran were discussed with the Kazakh trade delegation.
