“Turkey and Russia need each other”

Turkey and Russia need each other, Minister of Economy of Turkey Nihat Zeybekci said, TRT Haber TV channel reported June 16, Trend cited.

He said that Ankara and Moscow shouldn’t sacrifice their bilateral relations.

The minister added that Turkey has all that Russia needs and vice versa.

Zeybekci also expressed hope for a speedy improvement of relations between Turkey and Russia.

After several harsh speeches, Russian officials decided to implement sanctions on some specific areas. First of all, the government declared to suspend military relations with Turkey. Russian president Vladimir Putin accused Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan on so-called relations between Ankara and terrorist groups in Syria. These developments negatively affected Turkish-Russian relations, and additionally Russia decided to halt visa-free travel for Turks after imposing sanctions on Turkish goods.
