natoNo Membership Action Plan (MAP) will be granted to Georgia at Warsaw summit, stated by the special representative of NATO Secretary-General in Caucasus and Central Asia, James Appathurai during the interview with Georgian Public Broadcaster.

He underlined that membership of NATO is a political decision and it does not depend on only Georgia’s army and reforms.

“Let’s not turn MAP into a subject of political discussion. No MAP will be granted to Georgia at Warsaw Summit”, – Appathurai said.

According to him, it is necessary to enhance Essential Package with Georgia in order to fasten that moment when Georgia would be ready for NATO membership.
