Turkish designs a mirror that reflects smiling faces only

A Turkish engineer designed a mirror for cancer patients that would only show them their faces’ reflections if they’re smiling.

The Turkish engineer Saleh Berek Ilhan said that the design’s idea came from asking himself how could he emotionally support and help patients? how could strengthen the relationship between the patient and the doctor?

Ilhan told “Anadol News agency” that he once heard the story of a cancer patient, how he doesn’t dare to look into the mirror, because it’s still hard for him to accept the fact that he has cancer. That’s how he says he thought of making that mirror.

Ilhan added, “I designed the mirror so that it would reflect the person’s smile, as my main objective is to lift the patients’ spirits, especially cancer patients. As I know how much their mental state could affect their case.”

He already said that he’s got a lot of orders for the mirror, which is expected to be available in markets by 2016.
