Korean oceans and fisheries ministry announced that starting from Wednesday 21st of October, a joint campaign with China will take effect to investigate illegal fishing in exclusive economical regions.

In that context, three executives from the Chinese government will board a Korean patrol boat, while three executives from the Korean government will board one of the Chinese coast guards’ ships.

The water investigations will be focused on the northern borders of the west sea in the joint management zone between Korea and China where illegal fishing activities by Chinese fishers are most active.

These joint campaigns started for the first time in 2006 as a way to make China realize the dangers of illegal fishing.
