During her US official visit, president Park Geun Hye said that Seoul is expected to hold trilateral summit talks between South Korea, China, and Japan in the upcoming month. This will be the first summit meeting in three and half years. Bilateral summit talk with Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe could be held during these talks as well.

Park said that the trilateral summit talks would be a way to spread peace in Northeast Asia and to improve relations between South Korea and Japan. She added that these talks would be a perfect occasion to get through the obstacles hindering cooperation between Seoul and Tokyo.

She also added that the talks would include issues that concern both countries like comfort women case and other similar issues.
