‘Kangaroo Program’ for Moms of Premature Kids

The program is focused on teaching mothers of children that were born prematurely and underweight, the correct care to improve their growth, increase the weight and have a better relationship between the newly born baby and the mother.
According to data from the National Maternity Hospital of El Salvador, 14,000 women gave birth in 2011, of which the 18.4 percents were premature infants. <Photo: Xinhua/Ernesto Bonilla>
