The carpet weaving in Bhadohi dates back to the 16th century, during the reign of Mughal Emperor, Akbar. According to Priyam Baranwal, parterner of Bhadohi Carpets Company, one of local leading carpet manufacturers, India has the advantage in terms of the artistic style of the handmade carpets and the English language used in business. Therefore, handmade carpets made in India won popularity among international buyers.
