The word “daeboreum” comes from the word “boreumdal” which means “full moon”. Jeongwol Daeboreum refers to the largest and brightest full moon of the year, which falls on the 15th day of the new lunar year. In China, the day is called “Yuanxiao” Festival, or Lantern Festival. <Photo: Xinhua>
