The AsiaN and Al-Arabi magazine sign MOU to strengthen cooperation
The prominent establishments in the field of media, culture, and journalism Al-Arabi magazine & The AsiaN Next News Network, have agreed to extend their cooperation by signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) of Cooperation and Partnership.
The MOU was signed by Dr. Suleiman Ibrahim Al-Askary, Editor-in-chief of Al-Arabi Magazine, Al-Arabi Scientific Magazine and Al-Arabi Al-Saghir Magazine, and Mr. Lee Sang-ki, Founder President of Asia Journalist Association (AJA), CEO of AJA Media & Culture.
Al-Arabi magazine, based in Kuwait, has started to publish monthly since December 1958, and it has been the most circulated cultural monthly magazine in Arabic all over the Arab countries. Now, with almost 250,000 copies, printed monthly, Al-Arabi has the readership of almost 12 million every year. The main object of the magazine is to introduce the world to the Arab readers. So, more than 1,000 pictorial reports have appeared in Al-Arabi covering almost 100 countries. Two more publications have been added to Al-Arabi; the monthly Al-Arabi Al-Saghir, for kids (now this publication is 25 years old, 120,000 copies), and Al-Arabi Scientific Magazine (1 year old, 50,000 copies), beside the quarterly Al-Arabi Book dealing with Arts & Thought (22,000). By signing the MOU, The AsiaN readers can have a wide door opened by Al-Arabi over the world, specially the Asian and African countries.
The AsiaN, a Seoul-based online media service published in four languages, aims at playing the role of the window of Asia by delivering news in the region from an Asian perspective. The AsiaN, is composed of 150 reporters from 50 Asian countries which are members of the Asia Journalists Association (AJA), provides news in Korean, English, Chinese and Arabic.
The MOU signed is the second between The AsiaN and an Arab organization, as last month an MOU was signed with the Moroccan Writers Union, by Mr. Lee and Mr. Abderrahim El-Allam, President of the Union.
