Another Mass Killing Takes Place In Syria
In this citizen journalism image provided by Shaam News Network SNN, taken on Friday, July 13, 2012, a Syrian woman mourns over the body of a relative in Tremseh, Syria about 15 kilometers (9 miles) northwest of the central city of Hama. The Red Cross statement came as the United Nations tried to determine what happened in a village where dozens were reported killed in a regime assault. On Sunday, Syria denied U.N. claims that government forces had used heavy weapons such as tanks, artillery and helicopters during the attack Thursday, July 12, 2012 in Tremseh. The fighting in Tremseh was the latest violence in the uprising against Assad, which activists say has killed more than 17,000 people. <AP/NEWSis>
