Grand opening as exhibition creates great synergy between Kuwait, Korea
Kuwait: There is the art of diplomacy. And there is the diplomacy of art.
Marking 40 years of diplomatic relations, Kuwait and South Korea have held several events to celebrate the steady growth of their ties and the successful expansion of their cooperation.
Art, the main beauty of mankind, in November contributed to the rich tributes paid to the special ties between the two countries.
Korean artist Lee Hyang had the impressive Shaikh Abdullah Salem Cultural Center overlooking the well-manicured marina to showcase her skills with her exhibition “The Beauty of Korea”.
The opening of the exhibition brought together Kuwaiti and Korean officials who shared great moments of entente and harmony. The Kuwaitis demonstrated once more they are gracious and generous hosts and the Korean embassy showed its laudable diligence and endless assistance in such events.
Hyang gracefully wearing a traditional Korean dress seemed content with all the preparations and details related to showcasing her talents.
For her first exhibition in Kuwait, Hyang, one of the representative artists in Korea, presented 24 artworks that combined at times the Korean paper and the traditional ink painting.
In particular, the paintings, which depicted Korean traditions and the Taoist traditions of the Orient, were displaying traditional tales in a modern sense.
All the works were completed with Hyang’s special touches. Her best part was that she consistently completed the ever-changing challenges based on her creativity and solid foundation.
For the Korean artist, painting is rich imagination, life in its beautiful meaning. She has already been well received by foreign artists from Japan and Uzbekistan.
“The special exhibition of Lee Hyang, commemorating 40 years of bilateral relations will greatly contribute to cultural exchange and friendship between the two countries,” Korean Ambassador Hong Young-ki said ahead of the exhibition.
“The influence of the Korean Wave has brought a lot of attention to Korea’s younger generation in Kuwait and its yearning for Korean culture. This special exhibition will create great synergy between the two countries.”
