Festive events as Kyrgyzstan’s Osh celebrates 3019th anniversary
Osh: Osh, Kyrgyzstan’s second largest city, celebrated its special day with an impressive exhibition of flowers, the Boorsok festival, the “Osh – the capital of the Turkic world” exhibition, the Kyuz Berekesi (Fertile Autumn) agricultural fair, folk songs and several festivities.
The events, at the central square, were attended by Mayor Taalaibek Sarybashov, Speaker of the City Council Zhaparbek Ormonov, heads of institutions and enterprises, citizens and guests, KABAR news agency reported.
The Boorsok festival featured 40-50 types of boorsok, a type of fried dough food found in the cuisines of Central Asia, Idel-Ural, Mongolia and the Middle East. It is shaped into either triangles or sometimes spheres. The dough consists of flour, yeast, milk, eggs, margarine, salt, sugar, and fat. Several teachers and representatives of institutions and enterprises took part in the fair.
According to KABAR, employees of the City Department of Culture, educational institutions, pupils of the Music School named after Boroshov, employees of the Oblast Philharmonic Society named after Abdykadyrov and creative groups of national diasporas sang folk songs, performed a concert and organized festivities.
