Kazakhstan, Oman agree to ease visa restrictions
Nur-Sultan: Kazakhstan and Oman have agreed to ease visa restrictions for their nationals visiting each other’s country.
Visas have been waived for Omani citizens visiting Kazakhstan starting September 30.
Under the regime, an Omani citizen could stay up to 30 days in Kazakhstan without the need of a visa, the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said.
Kazakhstan’s Ambassador Najmedin Muhametali who held talks with Oman’s Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al Mahrizi expressed confidence that such a step would not only strengthen relations in the tourism sector, but would also contribute to further expansion of trade, economic cooperation and partnership, Kazinform has reported
Al Mahrizi said his country highly appreciated the decision by Kazakhstan said that it would boost the number of Omani nationals visiting Kazakhstan.
He emphasized that the procedure for issuing visas to enter Oman would also be facilitated for citizens of Kazakhstan.
As a first step, the Omani side will provide to citizens of Kazakhstan the opportunity to obtain electronic visas.
The nationals of Kazakhstan will later be able to obtain visas at airports and other border points of entry into Oman.
According to Kazinform, the two countries said they were looking forward to the opening of a direct flight between Kazakhstan and Oman in the nearest future and agreed to take appropriate measures in this area.
