Jeenbekov, AFC chief discuss further development of football in Kyrgyzstan
Bishkek: Kyrgyz leader Sooronbay Jeenbekov and President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa exchanged views on the development of football and its further popularization in the country.
Jeenbekov noted with satisfaction the positive activity and reforms of AFC, aimed at the development of football on the entire Asian continent. He expressed gratitude for the support to Kyrgyz football, stressing the results are clearly visible today, the press service of the Kyrgyz President reported.
Within the state policy of regional development, schools with gyms and new sports grounds are being built in the regions and district centers, the president said.
However, he explained that the football and sports infrastructure in Bishkek is outdated and told about plans to build a new stadium for professional football training in the capital.
The AFC president expressed gratitude to Kyrgyzstan for the support of football and fruitful cooperation.
Stressing that he worked closely with the Football Federation of Kyrgyzstan, he spoke about the joint plans of cooperation.
Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa also expressed his willingness to further support the initiatives of the domestic football federation and the implementation of projects, aimed at the development of football in Kyrgyzstan.
