Kyrgyzstan plans to eliminate corruption practices, create better business practices
Bishkek: Kyrgyzstan is launching an ambitious action plan to reduce corruption practices and assert favorable conditions for doing business in and with the Central Asian country.
The plan includes submitting a draft government decree “On Approval of the Action Plan to Reduce the Level of the Unobserved Sector of the Economy for 2019-2021” by the economy ministry for public debate.
A major objective of the Action Plan is to reduce the level of the unobserved sector of the economy to 22.6 percent of GDP by 2021. Another goal is to eliminate the reasons that encourage economic entities to go into the shadows, as well as minimize corruption risks and create favorable conditions for doing business, national news agency KABAR reported.
As a way to improve the conduct of business and reduce barriers and regulatory processes, the plan also provides for measures to strengthen control over entrepreneurs working in the informal sector in order to encourage their formalization.
Such measures include reducing the recruitment of employees without a contract as well as launching information and awareness campaigns on government activities.
