Two Azeri soldiers killed in accidental explosion

Baku: Two soldiers were killed and one was injured after a tank shell exploded at a military base in Azerbaijan on Saturday, the Azeri ministry of defense said in a statement. “On July 6 in the morning, an emergency happened in one of the military units. A serviceman accidentally dropped a tank shell filler to the ground, causing an explosion,” the ministry said in a statement posted on its website. “As a result, two servicemen – warrant officer Aghalarov Amiddin Shakhmali and junior sergeant Salakhov Samir Chingiz were killed and warrant officer Mammadov Nurlan Rahim was seriously injured.” The ministry said that the case was still being investigated.
