2019 World Journalists Conference Kicks Off in Seoul to Seek Truth
The 2019 World Journalists Conference kicked off on March 25, 2019, with the attendance of about 70 journalists from around 50 countries. The week-long journalist conference was promoted by the Journalists Association of Korea (JAK), which marked the seventh of its kind. It may be the first time ever for a single country to host such a world journalist gathering for seven times in a row. Much of the credit goes to the JAK.
The attending journalists are from such far countries as Costa Rica and Kenya and neighboring counties like China and Japan. They have different languages, environments, religions, and ideologies, but they all have gathered here in Seoul, just because of their ceaseless devotion to the truth, their sympathy for the suppressed, and their curiosity for the future world and etc.
On the first day of the 2019 World Journalists Conference, an opening ceremony was held at Hotel President in downtown Seoul, followed by a dinner hosted by Seoul Mayor Park Won Soon. The participants in the opening ceremony and dinner have different thoughts, but their sights were on one point.
“We walked three nights and four days to seek one line of truth,” which is a saying favored by Kazakh journalists. The implications contained in the saying have not changed. It should not change. It will not change in the future, as long as the eyes of journalists do not fade.
