Dear friend

On the heel of the typhoon Sanba that swept through Korean peninsula early this week, typical autumnal weather, characterized by blue and high sky, has come without fail.

In East Asia, conflict has flared up between China and Japan over Senkaku Islands or Diaoyu.

Chusok or Moon Festival which falls on Aug. 15 by lunar calendar is coming close. It is the biggest festival here celebrating this year’s good harvest of rice and other grains as well as various fruits.

I would like you to enjoy a painting by Dennis Han, who has become a successful painter overcoming his physical disability by strenuous efforts, through The AsiaN.

Last April, he rendered a lot of hope and inspiration to many people by holding an exhibition at the UN Headquarters for the first time among the handicapped artists in the world.
