DAEWOO E&C’s operating profit is 222.5 billion won which is 2.2% increase.

DAEWOO E&C’s operating profit for the first half year is over 200 billion won. As of 25th, according to statement of accounts for the first half year, the total sales of the company is 4.58 trillion won. Operating profit is 222 billion won and net profit is 95.7 billion won.

The increase of operating profit is explained by reduction of cost and booming business.

In housing division, the sales are 1.34 trillion won which is 45.5% increase from the same period.

In construction division, the sales are 1.1 trillion won increased by 20.4% from the same period.

An official from DAEWOO E&C said “Even though the sales from abroad are decreased due to delay of starting construction but the sales from the domestic market is increased significantly.

The company obtained 6.13 trillion won worth contracts for the fist half year. The company won several contracts around the world. There are construction orders such as Kuwait’s Clean Fuels Project, Qatar’s new orbital highway and Singapore’s Thompson subway.

An official in DAEWOO E&C said “Even though, the current period is in a period of economic stagnation, the company’s housing and construction division did pretty well,” and added that “As the leading company in providing housings in domestic market, there will be another chance to make a new leap forward.”
