One third of Indian youth willing to go into politics if given a chance
Indian youth’s interest in politics has consistently risen and a significant number of them are willing to enter the field if given a chance, according to a study carried by local media Wednesday.
Moreover, Indian youths of middle class are more in favor of making politics a career than their counterparts in other economic strata, the Press Trust of India quoted a study by the Center of Studies for Developing Society in collaboration with the German institute of Konrad Adenaur Stiftung as saying.
The study is based on a survey with 2,565 respondents and is entitled “Indian Youth and Politics: an Emerging Engagement”.
About one third of the respondents say they are willing to enter politics, while 54 percent say they are not interested, said the study. <Xinhua>
