Security measures are being ramped up in Bali, including in Buleleng regency, ahead of next month’s Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) Summit, local media reported. A total of 13 vulnerable spots have been identified in Buleleng, including a handful of ports, resulting in a series of cargo ships being searched, The Jakarta Post said.

11 head of states and 1,200 chief executive officers (CEOs) of global firms have already confirmed that they will take part in the APEC meeting in Bali from Oct. 1 to 10. The CEOs will participate in the CEO Summit, which will be held on the sidelines of APEC Summit, Indonesian Trade Minister Gita Wirjawan said.

“As many as 1,200 CEOs, chairman of companies from all over the world and 11 heads of states have confirmed to participate,” he said.  The presence of the CEOs positively signaled investment flows in the region, including Indonesia, according to Gita.
