No. 36 – 03 October 2012

Dear friend

Today, October 3rd is the National Foundation Day of Korea. It is said to be the first day heaven opened up its gates as well as the day Dangun founded the peninsula as Gochosun 4345 years ago. There is another meaningful day in October. That is the Armed Forces Day, which fell on October 1st.

I believe that in any society, the two most important groups of people are the military and teachers.

Soldiers are the “protectors of the present” as they maintain peace and security and protect our lives and assets. Teachers prepare our nation for the future as they teach our children.

Therefore, I believe we should express our gratitude and respect for these two bodies. And, I think this applies to all countries. How about sending a thank you letter to our soldiers for protecting the present and our teachers as they prepare us for the future through their commitment to education.

October 3, 2012

Sincerely
Lee Sang-ki, CEO & Publisher of the AsiaN
