President Lee’s Online New Year Message

The Blue House of Korea sent a new year’s message to government officials, journalists, artists, sportspeople, and many other celebrities in the name of President Lee Myung-bak and First Lady Kim Yoon-ok on 29^th, three days before 2012.    

President Lee said, “It is a difficult time for middle class people and a more difficult time for working class people. I can’t sleep and it is heartbreaking to see those young people without jobs.”

He also added, “On the other hand, we hosted the PyeongChang Winter Games, achieved a trading volume of 1 trillion dollars and became a country with the largest territory of economy. We will make every effort to create jobs and help ordinary people’s everyday life.” He completed his message with his best wishes for everyone to have a hopeful new year.

The message was sent to those 400 thousand government officials nationwide and opinion leaders with available email address in the afternoon of 29 through the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of  Public Administration and Security.
