Major news in <Aswat al-Iraq>: Deputy premier holds talks with Azerbaijani counterparts

Deputy Prime Minister Rouz Nouri Shawis discussed on Friday with his Azerbaijani counterpart ways of boosting bilateral ties, according to a statement of his office.

“Shawis met the Azerbaijani official on Friday in Baku, where he takes part in the Montana Forum,” said the statement received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

“Shawis hailed Azerbaijan’s stances toward Iraq, mainly after 2003 and its support to the democratic process in the country,” the statement added.

He called on Azerbaijani companies to come and invest in Iraq, mainly in oil and energy fields.
